French Toast Grilled Cheese Sandwich With an Italian Twist

French Toast Grilled Cheese Sandwich With an Italian Twist French Toast Grilled Cheese Sandwich With an Italian Twist

Today, is the last day of featuring Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. This sandwich, French Toast Grilled Cheese Sandwich With an Italian Twist, can be eaten anytime, but I like to think it’s a breakfast sandwich because it’s a french toast sandwich. An “Italian twist”, isn’t that contradictory? It’s the Italian spices that are added. First, you assemble your cheese sandwich with 2 1/2 slices of cheese, then dip it into the egg mixture and grill it on medium low heat. Can be eaten for lunch, but I like to think it’s a breakfast sandwich since it’s a French toast sandwich.
Recipe type: sandwich
Serves: 3

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 T milk
  • 1 T parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • ½ tsp. oregano
  • 7½ slices of American cheese or if you prefer provolone, you can mix American with 1 slice of provolone. Each sandwich gets 2½ slices of cheese.
  • 6 slices of bread-can be regular sandwich bread or Italian bread

  1. Assemble the cheese sandwiches. Then beat eggs, milk, parmesan cheese, garlic, and oregano. Dip both sides of sandwich into egg mixture and grill on medium to medium low for 3 to 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Eat it plain or you can even dip into a marinara sauce. I hope you enjoy this French Toast Grilled Cheese Sandwich With an Italian Twist. Let me know how you like this. I have been having fun this month making grilled cheese sandwiches, but I think my hubbie is tired of them. I’ll give him a little break, only a little, because I “heart” grilled cheese sandwiches. nap-time creations

Non stick frying pans are good for making grilled cheese sandwiches because the cheese don’t stick and clean up is easy. If you need one, you can buy it now, below, at Amazon.
